Promo codes: a key to an offer, not an advantage
A promo code — or bonus code, coupon code, voucher code — is a key that links a specific campaign to your account. The code itself changes nothing about the maths: the offer it unlocks still has wagering, a deadline and restrictions. This page covers where codes are usually entered, why many codes found online fail, and how to price the offer before activating it at 389win. We do not publish codes; valid ones appear in the operator's own channels or inside your account.
Where codes are entered
Three places are common: a field in the sign-up form (a promo code on registration), a field in the cashier during deposit, or a promotions section inside the account. The right place is the one the offer specifies. Entering a code after the deposit when the offer wanted it before is a classic way to lose the bonus, and support cannot always apply it retroactively.
How to use a promo code correctly
- Copy the code exactly; some are case-sensitive.
- Check the expiry date and whether it is for new or existing accounts.
- Check the minimum deposit and any excluded payment methods.
- Confirm in your account that the offer is active before you play.
- Read the wagering and max bet of the offer behind the code.
The offer behind the code
| Code unlocks | Turnover | Expected cost at 96.75% | Expected value |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50-unit bonus, 25x bonus | 1,250 | 40.63 | ≈ 9.38 |
| 30 spins at 0.50, 30x winnings (≈ 14.51) | ≈ 435 | ≈ 14.15 | ≈ 0.36 |
Illustrative example, not a 389win term. Two "exclusive codes", very different value. Methods: wagering and free spins.
Why third-party codes fail
Sites advertising "exclusive codes" often recycle expired campaigns, invent codes to collect clicks or send you to fake pages that imitate the operator. If a page asks for your password or banking details to "unlock" a code, leave. A legitimate code never needs your password outside the official site. How to recognise fake addresses: mirror and access.
When a code is rejected
The system message usually gives the reason: expired, invalid, already used, not available for your account or country. Take a screenshot and contact support if you believe the code should work. Never share account credentials with anyone offering to "apply" a code for you.
Names change, contracts do not
Coupon, voucher, bonus code, promo code — the label differs by market, the function is the same: identifying a campaign. The value is set by the offer's terms, never by its name. Judge every code as you would any bonus.
